XOLO - Q800 Mobile Review

Xolo mobiles are belongs to LAVA.

Just few months back i brought XOLO Q800 mobile. It is really wounder-full mobile. Here are my experience. It comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean. Great performance.

It comes with the below contents.

  • Xolo Q800 Handset
  • USB Charger
  • Micro USB Data Cable
  • In Ear phones
  • Screen Guard (perfect fit)

  • Look of the mobile is really exterior and It doesn't looks like a CHEAP MOBILE. The size of the mobile is perfect and it will fits easily in our hand and we can operate this mobile by using one hand. The body of this mobile will give us premium look.

    Display
This mobile comes with 4.5" wide  display. Very crisp image reproduction. There is no noticeable distortion.  Brightness is too good.

    Camera
Both the primary and secondary camera works good and clear. i'm really happy with the camera clarity and   performance.

video recording is awesome. very clear even in Low lighting condition.

    Audio
Decent audio quality. Speakers are loud enough. Stock music player does not allow you to do any tweaking. Ear phones are Ok. Phone clarity is great.

    Video
Again, video quality is great. HD Video played with no problem. But, Only downside what i found is it is not crispy enough. (May be i compared with Samsung SIII which i have). Decent enough for average users.

    Touch
Always we fear from a budget phone and that too "Not from a famous brand" is about touch. I want to say XOLO has taken full care about your fears. The 5 point multi touch in this phone is very responsive. Just like any higher end phone (Xperia, Galaxy serious) would have. I'm really very much impressed with the touch response.

    Comments:
I have used/tested all the sensors(Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Magnetometer, Ambie light sensor, Proximity sensor) as of now. Battery life is decent enough. Lasts for a day on average use. I tested this device with heavy games and it runs smoothly.

Now, If you Ask me whether to go ahead with this phone or not. The answer is DEFINITELY YES.

For me 11400 INR, XOLO Q800 is a great package.

    I would rate Xolo Q800 a 4 out of 5.

    Hope this will be helpful.

    PILLING

Pilling is also known as "pills" which we can find on our old washed garments. This can be formed by rubbing on loose fibers will formed on the surface of the garments. Pilling is originally formed in the knitted woollen garments due to uneven twisting yarns.

Generally this test will be carried out after a single wash. The initial abrasion on the surface of the fabric is the formation of fuzz.

To do this test we need below things.

    • Pilling Tester
    • Metal plates 4 inch diameter and 1 inch thick
    • grey scale to evaluate
A piece of fabric 10 x 10 inch is sewn and place on the round rubber tube. The outer end of fabric is covered with cellophone tape and metal plates are place on the tester. Run the tester for 300 cycle and then compare the sample with grey scale to give rating.

There are 2 types of machines available for conducting this test.
    • Martendale pilling machine
    • pilling box tester

COLOR FASTNESS TO WATER - AATCC 107 OR ISO 105 E02

This test is mainly done to test the water resistance of the dyed fabrics, printed or other textile products. The test method where the test carried is AATCC 107 1991 or ISO 105 E02. This test is carried out the find how much color staining occurs when garments are left in contact with damp.

To do this testing we need below apparatus.

    • Perspiration tester
    • Multi fiber fabric
    • Oven
    • Grey Scale
    • Color matching cabinet
    • Glass Plate
    • Weight 5Kg pressure
    • Glass beaker
    • Stirring rod
To do this method Distilled water is used as the normal natural water is variable in composition.

    Working Procedure:-
    • Cut the specimen (Testing garment) & Multi fiber at 10x4 cms and swen together.
    • Wet the cut specimen into distilled water at room temperature.
    • Place it in a Glass plate and put weight on the plates.
    • Put it in a oven and Keep the temperature at 37± 2°C for 4 hours.
    • Open the specimen and dry it in hot air exceeding 60°C.
    • Compare the specimen with the tested specimen with the help of Grey Scale.
This is the process how to do Color Fastness to Water testing.

    Color Fastness to Washing

Color fastness to washing is the one of the most important test conducted in textile industry to know the strength of the color. By using this test we can assure that color using on the product will withstand for a particular time frame. So, this is very important test.

There are 2 methods used for conducting this test.
    1. ISO 105 C06
    2. AATCC 61

    TEST EQUIPMENTS.

    • Landrometer
    • Standard reference detergents without optical Brighteners like ECE or AATCC 1993 specified by the standards
    • Multifibre fabric
    • Stainless steel balls
    • Beach & Beach activators
    • Grade 3 water

    PROCEDURE:

    • Specimens are cut into 4x10 cms size (ISO) and 4x15cms size (AATCC)
    • Attach the multifiber along with the specimen
    • A wash liquor is prepared using Grade 3 water, the appropriate detergent and additives. The detergents that are specified are the ECE standard reference detergent WOB and AATCC Standard Reference Detergent 1993 WOB
    • The Composite specimen and multifibre is placed on the wash wheel pot containing wash liquor and stainless steel balls as may be required. The wash wheel may be run for the approximate time duration.
    • The specimens are removed, rinsed and dried in a air temperature not exceeding 60 degree.

    RESULT AND INTERPRETATIONS:

The results are evaluated in three ways.

    1. Change in shade - Loss of color or tone as comparing to the original
    2. Extend of staining in Multifibre
    3. Self staining if any
Standard grey scales are used for the assessment where grades between 1 and 5 are given
in half steps. Assessment needs to be done with clean grey scales using masks and under
standardized lighting conditions in a dark room.

    Color Fastness to Rubbing

Color fastness is the test that designed to determine the degree of color which may be transferred from one surface to another test specimen by rubbing (Both wet and dry).

There are two methods for Rubbing fastness.

    1. ISO-105-X12
    2. AATCC-08
In ISO-105-X12 the wet pickup of the rubbing cloth is 100%. In AATCC-08 the wet rubbing cloth will be 65% also we check rubbing in Dry cloth. In wet rubbing the wet the cloth as per the test method and give rating with the help of Gray scale. Similarly for dry rubbing we test the specimen by rubbing and then compare the staining and give dating with the help of grey scale.

Color fastness to rubbing is the main test which is always required for every dyed or printed fabric. If the color fastness to rubbing result is good then its other properties like washing fastness and durability improves automatically because the rubbing is the test which test the fixation of color on a fabric.

Generally rubbing fastness depends on "Nature of fabric color" and " Depth of the color".

Construction of the fabric nature is also plays a important role in Rubbing test. Like Pigment, Disperse, Direct has its own fastness properties to rubbing. There are few dark colors like Black, Navy, Red, Burgundy, Royal blue which have very poor fastness properties because of the chemical structure. Like black color is a carbon base color and the particle carbon size is larger than the other colors so the rubbing fastness is poor. Same for Red, Navy and blue colors also.

So, to improve the fastness more binder is added to improve the fastness of these colors. It doesn't mean that we cant able to improve the fastness to these colors. the required result can be achieved but the production cost will increase. On the other hand the construction of the fabric also gets effects the fastness properties.

The result we can get normally are like below.

Light colors                         Medium colors                           Dark colors
    Dry                   5                                               4                                        3-4 & 4
    Wet               4 & 4-5                                        3                                        2 & 2-3

    GSM (GRAMS PER SQUARE METER)

    Introduction

GSM of the fabric is one kind of very important specification of fabric and it is very useful for Textile engineer to understand and production of fabric. GSM means "Grams per Square meter" that is the weight of the fabric in gram per one square meter. By this we can compare that fabric is heavier or lighter.

The fabric weight can be determined in two ways. "weight per unit area" and "weight per unit length". In woven fabric, the weight per unit length is usually referred to as the "weight per running yard". It is necessary to know the standard agreed width of the fabric. Usually width of the fabric is based on Loom. Earlier before the term "GSM" is used as 1b/100 yards. This is British Standard. For measuring this we need "Templates" and "Quadrant Balance". The template area is 1/100 square yards of which each arm is 1/10 yards. For measuring GSM, GSM cutter is used to cut the fabric and weight taken by the help of Balance. Both of these methods are equally used for Woven and Knitted fabrics.

    Procedure

    1. For measuring with Quadrant balance, we need to prepare samples by cutting the fabric using template.
    2. Weigh the samples in  ponds with the help of quadrant balance according to 100 yards.
    3. By this way we get the weight in ponds per 100 square yards fabric.
    4. To obtain GSM, we need to cut the fabric by using GSM cutter.
    5. Now weigh the sample by using Electric balance in grams.
    6. By this way we get the weight in grams per one square meter fabric.
    7. Now, find our the average of these found weight.

    Dimension Stability

    Dimension Stability :

Dimension Stability is the testing that done to find out exact shrinkage of the fabric. This can be obtained by doing testing on Garment or fabrics. Internationally we have a specific method to find the shrinkage. Many 3rd party testing agencies are conducting this test and we can easily do this test in our home by just washing. yes, just a washing machine is enough to find he shrinkage of the fabric or garment.

Now, let us see the procedure to find the shrinkage of the fabric.

    1.  We need to measure the garments in length & width measurements.
    2.  After measuring the garments put it for washing.
    3.  After washing make it Flat dry or Hang dry
    4. After drying remove the wrinkles by just pressing by hot steam (Ironing).
    5.  Measure the same Length & width of the garment.
After doing the above steps we have to apply a simple formula to calculate the shrinkage. The formula for calculating the shrinkage.

After wash - Before wash /  Before wash x 100

By applying the formula you can find the shrinkage of the Garment or Fabric.
